Andamion Murataj
About Artist
Andamion Murataj is an experienced producer and director in the visual arts. In 2009, he founded Lissus Media, an Albanian production company.
Murataj was co-writer and co-producer of the feature film “The Forgiveness of Blood”, for which he won the Silver Bear for Best Screenplay at the 61st Berlin International Film Festival. His most recent film, “The Breadwinner””, had its world premiere this year at the Sarajevo Film Festival.
He is one of the founders and the Artistic Director of the Balkan Film Marketas well as the Director of the Albascript WorkshopsHe holds an MFA in Film and Electronic Media from American University in Washington, D.C.
THE BOOKS OF LIGHT
Abstract
“The Books of Light” presents, in the form of an animated film, the extraordinary story of the survival of the Codices. The project will combine classical and contemporary animation techniques, incorporating themes and motifs of the cultural identity of the period as an integral part of the work.
For the realization of this project, innovative techniques will be employed, with the aim of using Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to collect and process historical material, as well as to transform it into a coherent visual language. This will serve the purpose of ensuring the most effective transmission of the project’s core ideas.
The project is planned to be developed in several phases, and it will also include in-depth research on the historical era and the geographical setting in which the events take place. Furthermore, a more comprehensive study will be conducted on the various stories of the Codices’ preservation throughout the centuries, elements of which may be integrated into the narrative of Skuripeku Skuripekut.
