On June 4, we held the event \u201cArchitecture of Memory\u201d in Delvin\u00eb, inspired by the project \u201cHeritage is Our Brand.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event featured a video art production by Meri Dishnica, one of the grant recipients of the Heritage is Our Brand project, funded by the European Union and implemented by DMO Albania and EU Policy Hub.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The video art drew attention to the unique values of the Gjin Aleksi Mosque in Delvin\u00eb, a monument that bears witness to cultural and religious harmony through the centuries, offering a journey through history, memory, and coexistence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"An informative and cultural video about the Gjin Aleksi Mosque, created with tourism potential to promote the area. This short video will serve informative and cultural purposes,\" said Meri Gjini.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eriselda Pelivani, specialist at the Delvin\u00eb Museum, highlighted the historical facts surrounding the mosque, which was built on the foundations of a Byzantine church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Built between the 16th and 17th centuries, it has been a Cultural Monument since 1963 and underwent restoration in 2020 while preserving its authenticity. According to foreign historians, it was constructed on the foundations of a 12th-century Byzantine church,\" she emphasized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Bleta Tuci, coordinator of the Heritage is Our Brand project, called on local authorities to use the video as a tool for promoting tourism in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"The Gjin Aleksi Mosque has been preserved in its authentic value, and I would like local authorities to promote it and turn it into a tourist hotspot for this area,\" she noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The activity began at the Gjin Aleksi Mosque in Rusan, continued with the presentation of the video art \u201cArchitecture of Memory\u201d by Meri Dishnica at the Delvin\u00eb Museum, and concluded with a meeting at the Municipality of Delvin\u00eb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants included Mayor Besmir Veliu, Deputy Mayor Brunilda Meleqi, Delvin\u00eb Museum specialist Eriselda Pelivani, curator Andi Tepelena, as well as historians and artists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the discussion panel, participants promoted the rare values of cultural heritage, interfaith dialogue, and the importance of preserving monuments that testify to our shared history and identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This event is part of the grants awarded under the Heritage is Our Brand project, funded by the European Union and implemented by DMO Albania and EU Policy Hub.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
