Albanian woman comes through artistic stained glass and amazes Elbasan with unique exhibition<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The square in front of the entrance to the Ethnographic Museum in Elbasan yesterday\nafternoon turned into a living space of memory and emotions through the exhibition \u201cThe Light\nof Memory through Legends in Glass\u201d, opened by artist Kreshnik Belba. During this event, an\natmosphere prevailed where Albanian art, history and spiritual heritage were combined in an\nextraordinary way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the symbolic motto \u201cLegends that Return to Glass\u201d, the artist brought\nto the public a unique exhibition with the special technique of artistic stained glass, presenting\nthe cycle of works entitled \u201cThe Girl Who Chooses\u201d. Through light, color and transparency of\nglass, Belba managed to bring back to life four Albanian legends filled with sacrifice, strength\nand national identity. The<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition was held within the framework of the DMO Albania and EU\nPolicy Hub project \u201cHeritage is Our Brand\u201d, a two-year project funded by the European Union,\nwhich aims to promote and educate young generations with the Albanian spiritual heritage\nthrough art, culture and tourism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kreshnik Belba\u2019s works were inspired by four important legends of the project: Holta Canyon,\nVrima e Nuses, Dance of the Nymphs of Apollonia and Gryka e Vaj\u00ebs. All these stories have at\ntheir core the figure of the Albanian woman and her sacrifice for freedom, dignity and love for\nthe country. Through the stained glass technique, the artist managed to transmit not only the\naesthetic beauty of the legends, but also the emotion and message that they carry across\ngenerations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These legends are part of 40 stories prepared by the project \u201cHeritage is Our\nBrand\u201d, which promote the spiritual and cultural wealth of Albania. The stories can be found on\nthe official platform albaniaheritage.com, where the story of Maximus Sabidius and the Egnatia\nRoad is also published, a story inspired by the unique tombstone of the Roman legionnaire\nlocated in the premises of the Ethnographic Museum of Elbasan. This historical and cultural\nconnection was the reason why the activity was organized in this museum with special values\n\u200b\u200bfor the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the opening of the activity, Megi Marku greeted the attendees, while the\nDirector of DMO Albania, Eva Kushova, spoke about the importance of Albanian spiritual\nheritage and how it can be transformed into an important asset for the development of cultural\ntourism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She emphasized that legends, traditions and rituals are part of our national identity\nand represent a powerful message passed on from past generations to new generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLegends are our spiritual memory. They carry stories of sacrifice, love and strength, which\nmust be preserved and transmitted through modern forms of art\u201d, said Eva Kushova during the\nactivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A very special moment was also the reading of the legend of \u201cVia Egnatia \u2013 Ad\nQuintum\u201d, created within the project and inspired by the tombstone of the legionnaire\nMaximus, preserved in the museum. This combination of ancient history and contemporary\nartistic interpretation gave the activity a special cultural and educational dimension.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On behalf\nof the Municipality of Elbasan, the Director of Cultural Heritage and Tourism, Artur Guni,\npraised the exhibition as a qualitative step in promoting our historical and cultural heritage\n\nthrough modern art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He emphasized that bringing Albanian legends into contemporary artistic\nforms helps not only preserve cultural identity but also bring young people closer to their\nhistory and roots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The artist Kreshnik Belba himself spoke about the creative process and the\nselection of these legends, explaining the importance of the stained-glass technique for\nconveying emotion and light through art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He showed that each work required long hours of\nwork and great artistic dedication to bring not only the figures and colors, but also the spirit of\nAlbanian legends to the glass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An important part of the activity was also the workshop held with\nyoung people, who had the opportunity to get to know the technique of working in artistic\nstained glass.\nThe young people shared their impressions of this creative experience, describing it as inspiring\nand educational.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the end of the activity, several project books with 40 stories of \u201cHeritage is\nOur Brand\u201d were donated to the Municipality of Elbasan and the Elbasan Ethnographic\nMuseum, as a way to contribute to the preservation and promotion of the Albanian spiritual\nheritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the joint photo, the exhibition moved to the Bezistan Plane Square, where visitors had the\nopportunity to enjoy the four legends worked on glass up close, as well as scan stories and\nvideos that showed the process of their artistic realization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kreshnik Belba's exhibition will\ncontinue its journey to other cities in Albania, such as Durr\u00ebs, Fier, Tirana and Shkod\u00ebr, bringing\na new way of seeing and experiencing our cultural heritage closer to the Albanian public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
