The Gramsh Flutes – “Sounds That Speak”
Abstract
The project will be realized as a multidisciplinary stage performance that combines music, theater, narration, and visual elements to bring to life the story of the “Gramsh flute players.” The performance will take place in an environment that evokes the nature and spirit of the mountains of Gramsh, creating a vivid, sensory, and emotional experience for the audience. The stage is illuminated with soft, natural lighting, creating the feeling of an afternoon in the Albanian countryside. In the background, a gentle ambient soundscape can be heard, preparing the audience for a spiritual journey into the world of tradition. A warm voice briefly introduces the theme of the performance: the flute as a symbol of love, communication, and connection with nature. Three to four flute players enter the stage, dressed in traditional costumes from their respective regions. They sit or stand in an arc and begin playing a quiet melody that represents the beginning of a love story. The lighting focuses on the instruments, emphasizing the movements of their hands and the rhythmic breathing of the flute players.
